Trivia / Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Rescue Palooza

Go To

  • Milestone Celebration: This game celebrates the 30th year since the very first Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game was made, and subsequently references many elements of the cartoon and its tie-ins. Also, Shredder cites this in the intro, as the reason for engaging hostilities with the turtles once again.
  • What Could Have Been: This game was originally going to be a remake of The Manhattan Project with graphics redrawn with larger color palettes (and less flicker), upgraded sound, and the addition of four-player support like the original arcade game and arcade version of Turtles in Time. Then the developer was going to do the same for the NES version of the first arcade game (even though the arcade original already existed). Ultimately he decided to combine the two into a whole different remix (also adding in parts from the first NES game despite it being platformer instead of a beat 'em up) to create this game. As much as people have liked the game that did get released, there's still many who would have liked to have seen the original plan for Manhattan Project completed as that game is often overlooked because of the technical limits of the NES.
