- California Doubling: Averted, unusually for a film of this era. The movie is set in New Martinsville, West Virginia, and much of it was really filmed there. Production was slowed by Gloria Swanson fans descending on the town. In 1988, New Martinsville celebrated its 150th anniversary with a special screening of this film.
