Trivia / Sonic: After the Sequel

Go To

  • Development Hell: The game was finished in October 2012, taking only 10 months to be finished, but the music team was unable to keep up. LakeFeperd even released Before the Sequel Aftermath to keep people occupied while it gets finished. It was eventually released in June 2013.
  • What Could Have Been: There were originally 5 endings in the game, and this would be done with the time limit (just like Before the Sequel) combined with the option to get the Chaos Emeralds. The final version settled for three: the Normal End, Bad End, and Fake End.
    • Before The Sequel Aftermath has an unlockable art gallery with scrapped material and concept sketches from this game. The highlights include:
      • Sugar Splash Zone was supposed to have a boss fight; after two aborted attempts to make one he was satisfied with, LakeFeperd decided to leave it without any.
      • An early concept for the Special Stages used a more traditional rear-view halfpipe-esque format (a-la Sonic the Hedgehog 2), but was summed up as "too hard to program..."
      • One significant spoiler: A sketch of the True Final Boss.
