Trivia / Solomon Kane (Marvel Comics)

Go To

  • Exiled from Continuity: Marvel lost the licence to Robert E. Howard's characters in the late 1990s, at which point they could no longer use Solomon Kane in new stories or refer to the existing ones. They regained the rights in 2019, at which point he appeared again... but lost them again at the start of 2023 onwards, returning to the previous situation.
  • Keep Circulating the Tapes:
    • None of the early Solomon Kane stories were reprinted before Marvel lost the rights to the character in the 1990s.
    • The next licence holders, Dark Horse Comics, reprinted many of the Marvel stories in an omnibus edition in 2009, but it went out of print when they also lost the rights.
    • Marvel then printed their own, larger, omnibus in 2020, after regaining the rights - and also made some of the original comics available in digital editions.
    • All of this then went out of print again (and digital comics were taken off-sale) at the start of 2023, when Marvel lost the rights to Titan Comics.
