Trivia / Simple Plan

  • Black Sheep Hit:
    • Their two biggest songs, "Perfect" and "Untitled (How Could This Happen to Me?)" are much slower and more melancholy than most of their songs.
    • "Summer Paradise", an upbeat reggae-influenced pop-rock track, ended being a top 10 hit in Canada and later ended up being 3x Platinum there, whilst also becoming their first top 20 hit and highest charting single in the UK.
  • Creator Backlash: Pierre has admitted on a few occasions that he's not a fan of his singing style on No Pads, No Helmets... Just Balls, as the album's producer (Arnold Lanni) wanted him to sound more "whiny". This ultimately made the album hard for Pierre to listen to following its release.
  • Creator's Favorite: In a "This or That" Tiktok, it was noted that Pierre’s favorite Simple Plan song is "Lucky One" from Get Your Heart On - The Second Coming.
  • Fandom Nod: "This Song Saved My Life" essentially takes every message a fan had ever given the band about how their music has helped them in life and puts it into musical form.
  • Meme Acknowledgment: They made at least one video with "untitled" used for whining about not eating enough sushi.
  • Refitted for Sequel: Every song featured on Get Your Heart On — The Second Coming! was originally written for Get Your Heart On! but ultimately wound up being cut from the album.
  • Schedule Slip: Sixth album Harder Than It Looks was originally slated for release in 2020, but the band chose to delay the release of the album until they would be able to tour again following the COVID-19 Pandemic.
  • What Could Have Been: "If I Die Tomorrow" by Mötley Crüe was originally written by Simple Plan for inclusion on Still Not Getting Any... but was left off the album as they didn't think it fit with the rest of the album. Producer Bob Rock took the song to Mötley Crüe knowing they wanted to include new material on their anthology album Red, White & Crüe, and Nikki Sixx made several lyrical & musical changes before recording.
