Trivia / Silver Bullet

• California Doubling: Though the film itself takes place in Maine, much of it was actually shot in North Carolina.
• No Stunt Double: Gary Busey did all his own stunts, and sustained injuries from broken artificial glass during the scene where his character is thrown into a mirror at the end. Likewise, Everett McGill ended up wearing the werewolf costume for most of its scenes; with only a few sequences subbed in by stunt coordinator Julius LeFlore.
• Playing Against Type: Gary Busey is best known for playing deranged and hammy villains, but here he plays Red, who while admittedly is an alcoholic who is estranged from his sister, is a loving uncle and is ultimately a good person. He’s still hammy, though.
• What Could Have Been: Don Coscarelli was initially attached to direct before leaving due to disagreements with producer Dino De Laurentiis.
