• Banned in China: Was fully officially banned in Russia because it revolves around a Fantasy Counterpart Culture of Nazi Germany as the Villain Protagonist.
• No Dub for You: Averted for the TV series, which has been released with an English dub. Currently played straight with the movie, which is only available on Crunchyroll in Japanese and Latin American Spanish, oddly enough.^note Most non-English translations of Asian media depends from English translations to work, which this is not the case here, since the movie was dubbed straight from the original Japanese version.
• The Other Darrin: The Latin American Spanish dub suffered from this despite of the length of the animated adaption:
  • Doktor Adelheid von Schugel went from Jose Luis Miranda in the first two episodes to Armando Coria in the rest of the series.
  • Anson Sue went from Martin Soto in his debut episode to Leonardo Garcia in the rest of the series
  • Mary Sue went from Alondra Hidalgo to Nycolle González in the movie.
• Playing Against Type: Aoi Yūki typically plays heroic young girls. Tanya on the other hand…… isn’t.
• Playing with Character Type: Monica Rial is known to voice Token Mini-Moe characters in the past, and while Tanya fits the bill, she’s also a ruthless Villain Protagonist.^note Monica Rial has voiced several villains in the past, but they often don't overlap with the Token Mini-Moe trope.
• Schedule Slip: The light novels ran into a major hiatus after releasing Volume 12 in February 2020, with Volume 13 taking three and a half years to come out at the end of August 2023 (prior to this, the series had consistently released at least one volume a year since it started publishing in 2013). To make up for the delay, Volume 14 released just one month later in September 2023 to conclude a two-part story arc.
