Trivia / Red Dwarf: The Promised Land

• Development Gag: Rimmer turning black and white while in Low Power Mode is a nod to how the original idea to portray a hologram was to have the character appear in black and white. This wasn't feasible with the effects technology available in the 1980s but in 2019 it was a lot easier to pull off.
• Troubled Production: As is traditional for a Red Dwarf production. Robert Llewellyn fell ill and ended up in the hospital during filming, forcing the producers to shoot around him and use a stand-in. Fortunately, he recovered in time to film some insert shots to make the scenes work.
