Fridge / Red Dwarf: The Promised Land

Go To

  • Fridge Logic: Rodon being The Cat's brother makes no sense when you remember that three episodes note  have The Cat and Lister go into stasis for centuries. For it to work, Rodon would have to be immortal, a time traveller or have been in stasis for a similar amount of time.
    • The stasis theory makes most sense; the Cats may have found the technology before they left Red Dwarf and Rodon uses it to freeze himself on occasion to help create the impression of himself as an immortal 'god', leaving instructions with a few key worshippers to revive him when appropriate and otherwise pass on his instructions.
  • Fridge Brilliance: Diamond-light Rimmer is able to convert solid objects into light and move them through walls. If you assume that the technology to do that on a smaller scale, perhaps the size of a light bee, has existed for longer than diamond-light mode itself, Rimmer's ability to walk through walls despite his light-bee being a solid object, as shown in Entangled, suddenly makes a lot more sense.
