• Orphaned Reference: The name of the eponymous Trojan was meant to be foreshadowing for a later episode which would have revealed a monster on board the Trojan had stowed away on Red Dwarf, which ended up not getting produced.
• Recycled Script: The episode is the basic premise of "Beyond a Joke" focusing on Rimmer instead of Kryten.
• Working Title: "Slow Rescue" (changed when it was realised it wasn't really a dynamic title for the start of a new series).
