Trivia / Princess Sarah

Go To

  • The Abridged Series: "Princess Sarah by Hambog ng Sagpro Films". Can be viewed here. However, it's currently only in Tagalog.
  • Completely Different Title: Also known as "Princess Sara", "A Little Princess Sara", "Princesse Sarah" (France), "Lovely Sara" (Italy), "Sally" (Arabic-speaking countries), "Die Kleine Prinzessin Sara" (Germany), "Sarah, Ang Munting Prinsesa" (Philippines) and "Mała Księżniczka" (Poland).
  • Creator Backlash: Eiko Yamada, the Japanese voice actress of Lavinia, has stated in some interviews that she disliked the character she played and since then she refused to dub characters who are antagonists.
  • Cross-Dressing Voices: Peter is voiced by a woman in some dubs. And in the original Japanese too.
  • Playing Against Type: Taeko Nakanishi's two roles: here in 1985 as a cruel, brutal, cold Miss Minchin vs kind, caring, loveable Mary "Marmee" March two years later. And the role of Miss Minchin came the year after Nakanishi had played a very different but equally intense character - Chigusa Tsukikage in the original Glass Mask anime.
    • Similarly, Eiko Yamada in this series as the spoiled, manipulative and thoroughly detestable Lavinia, versus impulsive, imaginative Anne Shirley in 1979 or ambitious, tomboyish Jo March in 1987.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • The show was supposed to have a scene or an episode where Sarah has to search Emily who is missing, but that idea was scrapped.
    • Lottie would have been plumper and her hair was a bit darker. Some merchandise still reflects this.
    • There was supposed a scene where Sarah had a Dream Sequence which takes place before Episode 12, but it was cut for some reason. You can view some of its animation cels here.
    • Concept art of Becky's father exists, implying he was planned to appear in the series, though in the final product he is dead. Considering how no concept art exists of Becky's grandmother, it's implied he was replaced with her grandmother.
