- Blooper: In the first game, Ninetales's name is misspelled as "Ninetails" on all of its cards.
- Defictionalization: Several of the cards created for both games were later physically released as promotional cards.
- Fan Translation: One for the 2nd game exists.
- Feelies: The game comes with Promo Meowth #10. A pretty rare card, but since over one million copies of the game were sold world wide, it's technically an uncommon card.
- No Export for You: The sequel never saw release outside Japan, possibly due to it coming out so late in the GBC's lifespan. A Fan Translation does exist, however.
- Recursive Adaptation: It is a video game based on a card game based on a video game.
