• Inspiration for the Work: If you wonder about the similarity of the detective's name with the former colonial name of Myanmar, Léo Malet indeed took it from there. He came up with the idea of using the name after seeing it in a Fu Manchu novel in English.

TV series:

• Actor-Inspired Element: Guy Marchand played jazz instruments such as piano, saxophone and clarinet, and thus he had Burma play them too.
• The Cast Showoff: Guy Marchand played the instruments himself.
• You Look Familiar: Some actors played more than one role in the series over time, such as Blanche Ravalec.
