    • In an episode of B.o.B Bob's daughter Trisha and a couple of the younger guys from Bob's office play Mystery Date in Bob's kitchen for lack of anything better to do.
    • In The Santa Clause Laura talks about how she always wanted that game and never got it as a kid. At the end of the first movie Scott gives her one when he finally accepts that he's the next Santa.
    • In an episode of The Simpsons, the family ends up playing the game after house swapping for the summer, and joke how the "dud" resembles Milhouse.
    • In an episode of Daria, Quinn dreams about her future college-related experiences in class where her suitors are: a cowboy, a surfer, and a preppy yacht type all calling back to the different dates offered in the game. They then fight over Quinn.
    • All New Series 4 of Wacky Packages featured a parody of the game titled "Misery Date". In the case of the parody, all the dates are duds (a hobo, a stereotypical nerd, and a scarred thug), as the girls futilely attempt to bar the door closed and run off.
