• Duelling Works: Often compared to The Strange Chores, another internationally-produced cartoon about three kids working as apprentices for an elderly Hunter of Monsters.
• International Coproduction: Produced by Denmark's Ja Film with help from Belgium's Ginger Pictures and Belvision, as well as Italy's Mondo TV.
• What Could Have Been:
  • Early materials for the show reveal that Ernest and Bo were originally much lighter-skinned, with the former having red hair and the latter originally having some kind of monster face print on her shirt (Ernest also had a different print on his shirt in his earlier design).
  • Materials from Ginger Pictures website show the series title had a much different design early on, with a big, green, slime-dripping MLM above the actual title (which lacked the jack-o-lantern face in the "o" and had the "Maniacs" part in purple as well).
