- Distanced from Current Events: The game was renamed Mega City Force and had all cop-related aspects of it purged in late November 2023 to distance the game from real-world Police Brutality and other unsavory acts (especially those of a racial nature) committed by police, as the developers believed that it was causing some people who would normally play the game to get the wrong idea about it and believe that it was endorsing such actions.
- Post-Release Retitle: The game was released in August 2023 as Mega City Police, but was changed to Mega City Force in November of the same year.
- Schedule Slip: The Factory/Robot update was intended to come out in autumn 2023, but was pushed back to December after it was decided the entire game would be rebranded.
