• Author's Saving Throw: One of the major complains about Herobrine in the original Mashup Week is that despite originated from a Creepypasta, he doesn't have creepypasta-related songs in his source list. Come Megamix, Herobrine returns, and he have Songs related to creepypastas as one of his buffs in his source list.
• Distanced from Current Events: During Megamix's early reveal cycle, it was announced that Heavy would partner up with Zarya from Overwatch to form the new team "Volskaya Co.". However, after Activision Blizzard came under fire for their toxic, abusive workplace culture, Zarya was promptly scrubbed from the roster and Heavy was retooled into a solo character once again.
• Official Fan-Submitted Content: Certain tracks for the tournament, such as Scatman, Hatman, & Madman, were submitted by fans.
• Promoted Fanboy: It is possible for a fan to join the music team if they submitted enough well made tracks for the tournament.
  • Yosh went from creating fan made visuals for Megamix Tracks to becoming a official member of the Megamix team.
• Screwed by the Lawyers: The 10.16.21 Direct for Megamix was originally blocked by Viacom due to copyright issues, and so, had to be re-edited and re-released the next day.
