Trivia / March of the Penguins

  • Completely Different Title:
    • The original title is La Marche de l'empereur (literally, "the march of the emperor"), a more poetic reference to the penguins (the official French name for the species is a literal translation of their English name).
    • The sequel, March of the Penguins 2: The Next Step, is known in France as L'Empereur ("the emperor").
  • Follow the Leader: Its success led to a brief burst of "penguin-mania", leading to the releases of Happy Feet and Surf's Up.

  • Foreign Rescore: Outside France Emelie Simon's vocal score was replaced by a score by Alex Wurman.
  • Sleeper Hit: Of a sort. Ordinarily, documentaries aren't released to mainstream cinemas like this one was.
