• Inspiration for the Work: While not confirmed by creators Rowan Atkinson and Will Davies, the show was most likely inspired by an unmade John Hughes script called The Bee. That film would have been about a contractor being menaced by a bee while renovating a mansion. Hughes had pitched the concept to several actors, including Atkinson.
