• What Could Have Been:
  • Carolina Ferraz was the first choice to play Capitu, but the actress turned down the role.
  • After Carolina Ferraz refused, model Vanessa Machado was cast to play Capitu, while Giovanna Antonelli would play Simone. However, during rehearsals, the filmmakers realized that both actresses would work much better if they switched roles, and that's what happened.
