• Approval of God: He spoke favorably of having himself and several of his singles name-dropped in Jason Aldean's "1994".
• Chart Displacement: He had several #1 hits, but popular songs such as "Prop Me Up Beside the Jukebox" and "John Deere Green" are not among them. Both are far more enduring than his debut single "Home".
• Follow-Up Failure: The two followups to "Bigger Than the Beatles" both only got to #23, and the next album didn't see a major hit at all.
