Trivia / Immortals Fenyx Rising

Go To

  • Ascended Glitch: The game had come from a glitch in a development build of Assassin's Creed: Odyssey where the crew of the Eagle Bearer's ship were replaced by cyclopes.
  • Content Leak: An early build of the game (back when it was known as Gods & Monsters) was accidentally and briefly made available for Stadia back in mid-2020. As to be expected, it was in a rough state, with mannequin-like people and AC Odyssey menu elements as placeholders. An official demo poked fun at this, with Fenyx remarking that a potion brewing station used to be more purple, as well as Zeus and Prometheus saying Fenyx must be thinking of the leaked demo.
  • Dueling Works:
    • Unintentionally - Ubisoft had the misfortune to release this game in the same year as the critical darling and multiple GOTY award-winner Hades, which also follows a (largely) original character in Ancient Greece dealing with various Gods and monsters. While Immortals still scored and sold well, it's definitely seen as the lesser of the two works, particularly with regards to characterisation and story.
    • On top of that, it was also beaten to the punch by Genshin Impact in the "Open world game taking some inspiration From Breath of the Wild" bracket.
  • Follow the Leader: Ubisoft openly admitted that they had taken inspiration from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild for the game's art style and gameplay mechanics.
  • Production Posse: Much of the cast is made up of fellow Odyssey cast members, also comprised heavily of voice actors of (at least partial) greek ethnicity.
    • Alkibiades is Male!Fenyx.
    • Alannah Ryan is Female!Fenyx.
    • Socrates is Zeus.
    • King Leonidas and Nikolaus is Prometheus.
    • Kassandra is Athena.
    • Brasidas is Ares.
    • Herodotos is Hephaistos.
    • Kleon is Typhon.
  • Working Title: Was introduced as Gods and Monsters at E3 2019 and was officially changed to its current title a year later, with the new name allegedly chosen to better reflect the progress the game had made during that time. It was also changed because Ubisoft were sued by Monster Energy Drink.
