Author's Saving Throw: This was the result of Ben, Donna, and Heather making it to the final four over Paula, Tommy, and Gina. Gina was considered incredibly bland, Paula was hard to take seriously, and Tommy had been seen as generic and their user barely showed up. In comparison, Ben, Donna, and Heather all had their arcs, and were among the most relevant on their teams, resulting in them being moved up to the final four.
Creator Backlash: The host of Season 3 went on to state that they personally didn't like the season, saying that there were multiple flaws when it came to their hosting style on top of several balancing issues, as well not being a fan of the winner of the season, Talia.
Troubled Production: The second season of Amateurs was rife with this. Starting out with a confirmed cast that was set to premiere after a season had ended, it eventually hit its first snag when the original host Rage Quit after being told to portray Marco Pierre White (who was later changed back into Gordon). After that, several contestants began to drop out, with them eventually being replaced. After the season finally got started, the replacement was overwhelmed with doing two seasons at once, that they decided to give the season back to the original host. However, the season itself was rife with several issues, such as several users not showing up, the characters ranging from bland to incredibly irritating, and balancing issues arising with Mitch making it as far as he did despite being botted most of the time. It eventually got to the point that the host saw no point in continuing the season at the stage it was in, and did a full-on reboot of the season.
