Trivia / Dylan Thomas

Go To

  • Live on Stage!: Dylan Thomas's live poetry readings were very popular, in New York as well as London — and set the format for Beat poets doing this.
    • Also, Under Milk Wood was performed live on stage before it was recorded for radio.
  • Promoted Fanboy: The involvement of Richard Burton in not one but two versions of Under Milk Wood (the 1954 BBC radio version and the 1972 movie), in addition to the fact recordings were made of him reciting Dylan Thomas's poetry, could be attributed to this. They were good friends in real life (although they fell out over money), and after Burton's death in 1984 he was buried with a volume of Dylan Thomas's poetry.
