• Creator Backlash: FreezeFlame22 considers "Familial Visit" as the worst episode of Donkey Kong Island for both how out of character Krusha was and because it's essentially 28 minutes of Diddy suffering for no reason.
• Cross-Dressing Voices:
  • YuriHaru567, a nonbinary person, voices Dixie.
  • Kelly Nora Queen, a transgender woman, voiced Swanky in the episode "Closing Down".
• Fake Nationality: Funky speaks with a Jamaican accent, but his voice actor Swoldow is American.
• The Original Darrin: K. Lumsy was voiced by AzUrArInG in his debut episode, but as he left the team not long after, his voice actor was then changed to InstaButNot. When Insta himself left the team, AzUrArInG returned to reprise his original role.
• The Other Darrin:
  • From the pilot until until "One Fine Krapple", Dixie was voiced by Xsytrixx. After Xsytrixx (formerly known as LilySketch) left the team in 2020, Carmen took over until 2023, when the role was given to YuriHaru567.
  • InstaButNot leaving the voice cast in January 2023 resulted in Kelly Nora Queen becoming the voice of Swanky, GengarOfTheOpera replacing him as Waldough, Mononerd becoming Big Sphen's voice actor, and Popplio Power taking over as DJ. Kelly unexpectedly resigned from her role over a year later, resulting in Swanky having to be recast.
• What Could Have Been: Katryna was originally named Kalypso, like the character she is designed after, and was K. Rool's daughter instead of his niece. Her original name could be seen during the casting call held for a female voice actress following Xsytrixx's departure from the team.
• Write What You Know: "DK's New Girlfriend" was based on a negative experience one of FreezeFlame22's friends had with a girl. Candy's personality as a whole is loosely based off said girl.
