Trivia / Degrassi: School's Out!

• Creator Backlash: Amanda Stepto has professed her dislike for School's Out on multiple occasions. She felt it wasn't a great send-off and criticized the lack of proper closure given to certain characters, including hers.
• On-Set Injury: Jacy Hunter shredded her vocal cords during the scene where Amy screams for help as Allison is about to drown, and said at Degrassi Palooza that her voice was never quite the same afterwards.
• What Could Have Been: The original 1990 script was quite different:
  • Lucy is much more involved in the overall plot and films a new movie, with Caitlin and Snake being the co-stars.
  • In addition to Joey cheating with Tessa and getting her pregnant like the final version, Caitlin also cheats with Snake.
  • Tessa is vehemently anti-abortion and wants to keep the baby, with Joey deciding to "do the right thing" and marry her.
  • The end-of-summer party is a get together and celebration of Lucy's movie.
  • Lucy and Bronco are in the car with Wheels. Instead of killing a kid and injuring Lucy, he ends up instead paralyzing Bronco and killing Lucy, bringing her entire arc that began back in Degrassi Junior High to a sudden and pointless end.
  • Snake is the one to visit Wheels in prison instead of Joey and is sympathetic towards him, compared to the final version where he's disgusted and cuts all ties.
  • Joey and Tessa's wedding is featured at the end instead of Simon and Alexa's, with Joey dropping out of school to support Tessa and the baby.
