  • Throw It In!: The infamous "GRAND CANYON!" minigame from DSaF1 ended up being made in one night. The developer was making content for the fourth in-game night, but had forgotten about their original detailed plan for the minigame, which was longer overall and included an entire map with multiple rooms. Instead, they decided to make only two rooms for the game and write the dialogue with "the dumbest thing that came into their mind".
  • What Could Have Been:
    • The first game originally allowed the player to beat up a child for tokens and refer to Freddy as "Feddy Frazaspergers". Both were cut for being controversial.
    • Originally, the player would have been able to go through the game without ever encountering Dave, and killing the children without meeting him would result in an ending in which he kills you for copyright infringement.
    • The first game was originally a free-roam game working the nightshift where the player was transferred to the dayshift on the final day. The dayshift portion turned out to be much more interesting than the night portions and the game was remade to be fully based on the dayshift. A free-roam of the nightshift would eventually be made in the form of "Project Save The Kiddins."
    • There was a cut ending in the first game where it was revealed that every single worker at Freddy's was a child murderer, and the restaurant was actually a Fredbear-worshipping cult that was obsessed with the child-possessed robots and harvested children's organs. It was removed for being convoluted.
    • Dayshift at Freddy's 3, 4, and Sister Location were planned out down to specific dialogue and jokes, but will never be made due to DirectDoggo's personal reasons.
      • DSaF3 has now been made anyway.

Other Trivia

Dave and Henry are based on an old, now outdated, fan theory regarding the Five Nights at Freddy's franchise. This theory stated that there were in fact two men behind the slaughter, one pink (represented by Henry) and one purple (represented by Dave). The "Pink Guy" was believed to be the real mastermind and the boss of the Purple Guy, which influenced Henry's Greater-Scope Villain role in the Dayshift series.
