  • The original idea of the series was a continuation of Jack Kirby's New Gods mythos, with Victory being the son of Orion and grandson of Darkseid. When Kirby left DC Comics, he lost the legal rights to the Fourth World mythos, so the concept ended up being reworked.
  • In 2006, Lisa Kirby, Jack's daughter, discovered unused content from issue #6 of the original series, and used this material as the basis for the Jack Kirbys Galactic Bounty Hunters miniseries.
