  • Keep Circulating the Tapes: Mega Bomberman hasn't seen a single rerelease, unlike its Japanese counterpart.
    • To a much greater extent, Bomberman '08. A mobile remake of '94, this game was mostly exclusive to Japan, save for a Windows Mobile port. For years, the game was thought to be lost to time, until a Bomberman Board member found the Windows Mobile port in 2017. Currently, this is the only way to play the game.
  • No Export for You: The original Bomberman '94 on the PC Engine, until Nintendo added it to the Wii Virtual Console in 2009. It was released on the PlayStation Network later that same year. Subsequently, it was given worldwide releases for Windows 8.1 via the Windows Store in 2016, the Wii U Virtual Console in 2017 and the TurboGrafx-16 Mini in 2020.
  • Remade for the Export: Although in eventual favor of Bomberman '94, Mega Bomberman has never been re-released.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • Another Mega Bomberman was in development in 1994 by Factor 5, who had a "special 8-player-demo" which required 2 Sega Team Player Adapters. This would have been a new record for most simultaneous players in a home Bomberman game at that point.
    • According to a Famitsu article comparing the Sega Genesis Mini and the TurboGrafx-16 Mini, Mega Bomberman was considered to be one of the games featured on the Genesis Mini, However, at the stage of deciding the lineup, it was unbalanced since only one overseas version of the software was recorded.
