Trivia / Bend of the River

• Completely Different Title:
  • In Finland the film was called "Maa vuorten takana", meaning "The Land Behind the Mountains" in English.
  • Studio executives were unsure if British audiences would understand the title and changed the syntax to "Where the River Bends."
• Hostility on the Set: James Stewart was so upset when Rock Hudson received more cheering and applause at the premiere that he vowed never to talk to the actor again, let alone work with him - and he never did.
• Working Title: Bend of the Snake.
