Trivia / Batsugun

Go To

  • Executive Meddling: The Western console versions of the Saturn Tribute Boosted port got delayed to an unannounced (ultimately July 27, 2023) at the last minute so that Clear River Games and Limited Run Games could produce physical editions of the game and have the digital version be released on the same day as those.
  • Late Export for You: The game was originally released in 1993, and saw releases in Korea and Europe in addition to its native Japan but did not see a release in the Americas until 2023 with the Saturn Tribute Boosted version, 30 years later...but only on Steam. The console versions of that release are an example as well; they were delayed by about a couple months for Western markets at the last minute.
  • No Port For You: The EXA Label release, which has a new Arrange Mode, is exclusive to exa-Arcadia arcade game hardware.
  • Swan Song: It is Toaplan's final shmup before their bankruptcy. That said, Snow Bros. 2 was in development as well at the time but was published under the spinoff brand Hanafram that they made just before closing their doors. So Batsugun is Toaplan's final game as Toaplan.
