• Advertised Extra: Simon Pegg is still billed for this episode. He has barely two minutes of screen time and is killed off in the opening.
• Fake American: Like most of the cast, Private Hall is not played by an American. Irish actor Andrew Scott plays him.
• Deleted Scene: Of Skinny Sisk on the plane about to jump asking if anyone wanted to buy a watch.
• Shrug of God: In his memoir, the real Bill Guarnere admitted he did not remember if he opened fire on the German convoy before Winters gave the order, but then admitted it's likely he did.
• Truth in Television:
  • As noted under Reality Is Unrealistic, Malarkey did indeed find an American born POW among the Krauts. They had actually worked across the street from each other but this was changed to him being from Eugene – presumably because audiences would find this too unrealistic.
  • However there is one small error present with Private Hall: his name was actually Halls. There was a John Hall killed on D-Day but he died in when his plane was hit. This error is present in Stephen Ambrose's book too.
