• Dawson Casting: Most of the high schoolers are played by actors in their 20s, which in some cases is likely to avoid further controversy over it's already hot-button premise.
• Dueling Shows: Couldn't shake the comparisons to Netflix's own Black Sheep Hit, Elite (2018), another Netflix Southern European show released in the same year, set distinctly in a very wealthy high school, (in)famous for having a lot of sex scenes (though in this case it's much more in the No Yay category, and the sex scenes are much less graphic compared to Elite), being a genre mashup of the classic Teen melodrama formula, and both shows have the principal's gay son with a coming out story in the first season. The differences are Elite is built around a whodunit murder mystery while Baby takes a Crime Movie-style approach, and the sociopolitical issues (which are present, to a more lurid degree, especially those revolving around class differences) of the former are far less prevalant in the latter.
• Fake Nationality:
  • Italian actor Riccardo Mandolini playing half-Lebanese character Damiano Younes.
  • Cuban actress Chabeli Sastre Gonzalez playing Italian character Camilla Rossi Govender, though even in the series she has a Hispanic mother named Rocío, played by a Spanish actress. Camilla's father and brother are played by Italian actors, though.
