- The almost-rape of Thelma, where she tearfully begs Harlan not to hurt her, even as he forces her over the car and hits her in the face several times. Thank God Louise showed up when she did.
- Louise's line "when a woman is crying and screaming like that, she isn't having any fun" becomes especially tear jerking when you get hints to her backstory.
- Louise's savings being robbed by JD. She collapses crying in a heap, probably the only time in the film she really breaks down.
- The last few minutes. In some ways happy tears, in others very bittersweet.
