Let's Ramble With Rae is generally light-hearted, goofy and occasionally hot-blooded, yes, the series can tug at the heartstrings one way or another on occasion.

     Fallout: New Vegas
  • In Part 11, Queen Latifah loses Rex, then Veronica in a cazador attack, resulting in a breakdown that lasts through the remainder of the episode.
    • The episode's emotional punch gains more emphasis as Hoffman himself falls apart while still in-character.
  • When Latifah loses Lily — who likely was the main reason the former survived for so long — in Part 53, she became so depressed she drank herself into a stupor and wandered into the Big MT.

     Mech Warior 4
  • Early in Part 8, Queen Rae & Co. reunite with Tito after rescuing Sydney, only to learn from Tito that Sgt. Dies disappeared while securing a path for her downed drop ship, and is thought to have been killed by Oligopolmart forces heading in her opposite direction.
  • Late in Part 18 during a break in action amid the liberation of an Oligopolmart prison camp, Rae's mech's auto-pilot directs her into a repair bay, cutting off her com signal until repairs are completed. Seconds later, she hears a voice coming from an enemy mech arguing with Tito over surrendering. Turns out it was Sgt. Dies, who was captured by Oligopolmart in Part 8, mentally broken while imprisoned, and enlists herself into the opposing army as she was the only prisoner who could pilot a mech. The last few minutes are heartbreaking, ending with Sgt. Dies' death. The last transmissions sum it up best:
Tito: Man! You gotta wonder how many political dissidents go in one way, and come out another.
Jordan: If you beat a dog for long enough, sooner or later, it loses the willpower to run away. [Beat] Stay put, Regal Lance. We'll be there soon.
