"Oh no. I feel sad. I loved Blue Fish."
- The episode "Daniel's Fish Dies" is about the death of Daniel Tiger's favorite pet goldfish, Blue Fish. The book version, Remembering Blue Fish
, had already been released, and scenes include Daniel crying over the loss of the fish and having to deal with Margaret unwittingly upsetting him by taking his picture he drew of the fish. Definitely a tearjerker.- The episode was released February 27, 2018-15 years after Mr. Rogers's death.
- In "Tiger Family Trip", Daniel dropped the picture he wanted to give to Grandpere in the middle of the road, and nobody went back for it. Daniel and the rest of his family have each other for company when they're apart from Grandpere, but Grandpere has nobody else I could have really used the pick-me-up.
- In "Daniel Catches a Cold", Daniel is forced to stay home rather than attend Prince Wednesday's birthday party (and, despite getting strawberries, doesn't get to have any cake either) due to catching said cold. Worse still, he has to rest which basically means "no playing".
- The closing song "It's Such a Good Feeling" is a mix of a tear jerker and heartwarming, especially for those who recall the Mister Rogers rendition of the song; it only helps to reinforce the thought that he had such a powerful impact on many people's childhood, and that this show is adding to his legacy by helping the new generation the same way he did to generations before.
- In "King Friday for a Day", we see O and Miss Elaina sad because they dropped their ice cream and got their doll dirty respectively, and Daniel is torn about whether to sacrifice his objects. He does, but then he's worried he failed at being king. King Friday, however, says he made a good king.
- "Daniel Needs Tigey at School" as a whole is pretty sad, since the whole theme of the episode is being "upset". Daniel misses his parents, which is why he feels the need to bring Tigey to school, and then he gets sad, to the point of tears, twice: first when he gets knocked over, then when his friends are in his way.
- "Daniel Feels Worried About Mom" because Daniel struggles with worry about Mom Tiger after she hurts her arm and has to go to the hospital and have it put in a sling.
