Tear Jerker / The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special

• Kraglin reveals the time Peter wanted to celebrate Christmas. Yondu was (initially) not happy with all these sentimental feelings of giving and sharing and demanded Peter (and Kraglin) to toss everything aside, kicking the tree as a statement. It's quite notable that Nebula is shown to be shaking her head in disgust when Drax is laughing at Yondu ruining Christmas.
  • Speaking of Quill, he's despaired over not having found Gamora. Also, it's almost Christmas and he obviously has no family to spend it with (well not in Knowhere anyhow). And his attempts to even describe Christmas end up in failure.
• Drax forgets to turn on the cloaking device as the Guardian's ship swoops over Beverly Hills. The people below are terrified, with one woman sobbing in horror. Give how many terrible things have happened to Earth because of alien invasions, you can hardly blame her.
• All Mantis wants to do is cheer Quill up, especially since it's revealed that she's Quill's sister, but instead, Quill is furious that she's basically committing human trafficking by kidnapping Kevin Bacon and brainwashing him to be Quill's present. He's horrified that Mantis is repeating Ego's shtick. This also crushes Mantis as well—despite that she's trying to avoid being like Ego, she ends up just like him for a moment, even with her good intentions.
• Although this doubles as Heartwarming, the sister reveal between Mantis and Quill can be a little tear-inducing for some. Especially seeing the brief hesitation and worry on Mantis' face when she mentions Ego's name, fully knowing how much it would disturb him. And finally, the tears streaming down from both of her eyes when the reveal actually does come. If you were Quill in that situation, you can't help but feel bad for Mantis, especially since she's revealing an unforgettable secret; she definitely deserved the hug that came shortly afterward.
• In the final animated flashback segment where Yondu finds the gift for him, another gift that was intended for Taserface can also be spotted. Many years later, he'd become the one most responsible for the destruction of the Ravagers.
