Tear Jerker / Star Trek Continues

• Lolani's final message for Kirk, left on an old copy of "The Fall of the Roman Empire" he lent her.
• Ensign Taylor's speech to Usdi's father in "Come Not Between the Dragons" is surprisingly moving.
  Taylor: I don't know what your name is. Mine's Aliza. When your son came to us, I knew he'd chosen me for a reason. I didn't know why. Now I know. Your son loves you very, very much. Just like I love my father. I know in my heart that you're not a monster. But every time you lash out in anger at your son, you become less the father he loves, and more the monster he fears. Please, please find a way to heal yourself. Because my father never did.
• "The White Iris" has some legitimately sad moments in which Kirk faces his feelings of guilt over the deaths of a lost love aboard the Farragut, Rayna, Edith Keeler, Miramanee and Miramanee's unborn daughter.
• "To Boldly Go, Part II" and the final fate of Dr. McKennah, who is on the Kongo when the Espers blow the ship up. Spock and Scotty, try as they might, can't beam her back through the interference, and they only get a glimpse of her pattern and a few last words before she fades away into open space, brave face on all the while. And tragically, Spock blames himself for the whole thing.
