  • The American Civil War videos had several.
    • In the first part, Abraham Lincoln lost his son Willie to typhoid fever. This also doubles as a heartwarming moment, because despite being affected by his son's death, Lincoln's composure did not falter, because he knew his country, as well as his family, needed him in those dark times.
    • In the second part, Lincoln himself is assassinated. This is especially heartbreaking since the video takes time to emphasize Lincoln's relief that the war was ending and how he was looking forward to enjoying some happiness during peacetime.
    • Just listen to the music at the end of Part 2, when the narrator talks about Lincoln's legacy. You'll definitely want to cry.
  • The peaceful protest led by Father Gapon in the Russian Revolution video being attacked and massacred by imperial soldiers. Hearing about all the innocent people murdered for simply wanting to give the tsar a petition can be quite saddening.
  • The brutal execution of Tsar Nicholas II and his family. Once the most powerful family in Russia, reduced to common prisoners. The narrator's voice audibly breaks when he describes how Nicholas, his wife Alexandra, and their five children (Olga, Tatiana, Maria, Anastasia, and Alexei) were gunned down by drunken Bolsheviks in the middle of the night, completely at random. Nicholas might have been an obstructive autocrat, but he didn't deserve to die like that, and his family especially didn't deserve it.
  • Anne Boleyn's uncle and ex-fiancĂ© are among the jury who convicted her for a myriad of crimes she was falsely accused of. They are shown looking downwards, heartbroken, only convicting her to avoid angering Henry.
  • It's hard not to feel sorry for Rome, of all people, after the terrifying defeats they suffer at Hannibal's hands during the Second Punic War. From the survivors of the battle of Lake Trasimene witnessing the lake filled with the blood and bodies of their comrades, to the women weeping at the gates of Rome hoping for news of their husbands, sons and brother's fates, to the soldiers at Cannae who were so tightly pinned in that they couldn't even lift their weapons to defend themselves as the Carthaginians massacred them for hours.
  • While his reaction to it was way, WAY over the top, it's quite sad to see George Remus break down in tears after seeing that his wife has left him for someone he confided in whilst in prison, and has taken all his possessions.
