Tear Jerker / Jetsons: The Movie

Go To

  • When Elroy nearly dies, and George and Jane's reactions after he is saved.
  • A minor one, but it's hard not to feel sorry for Judy when she ends up missing her date with Cosmo as a result of the move, and breaks down crying upon finding out that he went with someone else. It does get better, but still...
  • Astro, Jane, and Rosie crying while watching an emotional soap opera.
  • A real-life example with George O'Hanlon (the voice of George) and Mel Blanc (the voice of Mr. Spacely), who both passed away shortly after recording their lines and never got to see the finished product. George O'Hanlon even had a stroke in the studio and died shortly afterward in the hospital. The film is dedicated to both men.
    • The method of recording was — due to not only his advanced age, but partial blindness and short-term memory loss from a prior stroke — someone saying the line to O'Hanlon in the studio, and O’Hanlon then repeating it in George Jetson's voice. Because of this, O'Hanlon's last words were "George, George! Are you okay?!" when he was found going through the stroke that would ultimately kill him.
Astro: (at the very end of the credits) RrI Rrove you, Rreorge!
  • The song "Home" by Tiffany as the Jetsons bid farewell to their new friends, especially by the climax.
