“You and I are one and the same… Unleash your imagination!”

Ultraman Arc is a Toku series by Tsuburaya Productions and the 36th entry of the long-running Ultra Series.

In an alternate Earth, an infamous disaster where multiple kaiju appeared all over the world (known as K-Day) heralded by the space kaiju Monogelos has put humanity on the edge, prompting the creation of SKIP (Scientific Kaiju Investigation and Prevention Center), an organization cooperating with the Global Defense Force (GDF) to prepare and counter kaiju attacks. One of Monogelos' horns remains behind studied by the ever-wary people of Earth. Our protagonist, Yuma joins SKIP to investigate more about kaiju and soon finds himself meeting a space entity he saw 7 years ago, Rution the being of light who bonds with him due to his desire to help.

By uniting with Rution, Yuma becomes Ultraman Arc, the bringer of hope!

The series is set for release on July 6, 2024. Following the example of Ultraman Blazar, the series will air with an English simuldub utilizing YouTube's audio track feature, streaming weekly.

It will also be simultaneously broadcast in major Asian countries/regions (Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand, Indonesia, and Vietnam), dubbed into local languages. Additionally, the YouTube/Streaming release will feature eleven subtitle languages (English, Korean, Indonesian, Malay, Vietnamese, Filipino, Latin Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Hindi, Chinese, and Thai).

Recurring Ultra Series tropes

  • Kaiju: A major plot point of the series involves Monogelos, a space monster who heralded a swarm of kaiju in the fateful K-Day.
  • Transformation Trinket: Yuma transforms into Ultraman Arc by placing the Arc Cube into the mystic Arc Ariser.

Ultraman Arc provides examples of the following tropes:

  • Breaking Old Trends: The first time an Ultraman's real name is outright said from the series' description, rather than giving only a codename or only revealing it until later.
  • Mythology Gag: The show's title screen, from the font to the swirling circles in the background, call to mind the title screen of Return of Ultraman.
