With Professor Banner still missing, the seventh Shadow Rider makes their appearance known.
- Batman Gambit: To get to Alexis, the Shadow Rider attacks Atticus in his room and kidnaps him. Alexis reacts accordingly and gives chase, running right into the Rider's trap.
- Dwindling Party: Not only have all the spirit key holders but Jaden been defeated, but Atticus, Alexis, and Chazz have all vanished thanks to the seventh Shadow Rider.
- Foreshadowing: When the Shadow Rider is inserting the spirit keys they collected, two of them appear in the spirit gate while the third is physically inserted.
- Light Is Not Good: With the Shadow Rider possessing all but Jaden's spirit key, six beams of light around the island appear.
- Orbital Bombardment: One of the cards the Shadow Rider uses against Alexis and Chazz is a magic card that brings down a meteor storm to destroy all monsters on the field. The card isn't seen again after this episode, so its name isn't revealed.
- Person as Verb: The beginning of the episode has Chazz eating Jaden, Syrus, and Chumley's breakfast.Jaden: Chazz is being Chazz again!
- Silent Antagonist: The last Shadow Rider never says a word this episode.
- Stuff Blowing Up: Crowler substitutes for Banner's alchemy class and conducts an experiment resulting in an explosion and getting a piece of metal stuck to his face.
- The Worf Effect: The seventh Shadow Rider defeats Chazz, Alexis and presumably Professor Banner, activating six of the spirit gates.
