Tropes

  • Arson, Murder, and Jaywalking: The team of villains Jack puts together through time travel are Atilla the Hun, Blackbeard, Billy the Kid, and Mrs. Cornhaven, his first grade teacher.
  • Continuity Snarl: In "Citadel of Doom", Dashi and Dojo claim to Omi that they hid the Sands of Time either in Egypt or somewhere in Europe—turns out it was actually in the temple's garden the whole time. Dojo tries to justify his mistake since there was a pyramid shaped rock in the garden.
  • Cruel Cheerleader: The Cheerleading Bots, which are fought by the Xiaolin Monks in the intro.
  • Early-Installment Weirdness: The Ruby of Ramses is much larger in this episode compared to how small it is in its later appearances.
  • Foreshadowing: While trying to retrieve the fake Sands of Time, the camera focuses on the red jewel in the Pharaoh statue's forehead. Dojo later remembers it as the Ruby of Ramses.
  • Help Yourself in the Future: Inverted in that it is Future!Omi that comes back to help Current!Omi.
  • Once an Episode: The "Escape the Pyramid Maze" Xiaolin Showdown Tsunami featuring Current!Omi and Future!Omi against Current!Jack and Future!Jack for the Ruby of Ramses, with the Omis' Third Arm Sash and Thorn of Thunderbolt versus the Jacks' Monkey Staff and Mantis Flip Coin; the Omi team wins after both teams make it to the final level and Future!Omi blasts the Jack team out of the pyramid using the Thorn of Thunderbolt.
  • You Are Too Late: When the Xiaolin Monks return to the Temple after their flight, Jack already has found the real Sands of Time.
Jack Spicer: Looking for this, Xiaolin Losers? You're out of luck and out of time!
