The Wild Kratts Crew decides to investigate the secrets of Crocodile birth while trying to show Aviva the nurturing side of Mother Crocs.

- Big Damn Heroes: Aviva arrives in the newly-created Hippo Sub to bail the brothers from the Crocodilla's wrath (See Oh, Crap!).
- Continuity Nod: Despite being the first episode to officially air, Chris makes a reference to Kerhonk of when Aviva made a Gharial power disc while they were adventuring in Asia.
- Jerk with a Heart of Gold: How mother crocodiles are portrayed, they may pick on pretty much every other animal in Africa, excluding hippos, but they defend their eggs and young with their lives.

- Oh, Crap!: The Kratt Brothers appropriate reactions upon their suits deactivate just as Crocodilla is returning with the rest of her hatchlings to the river creche.

- Reptiles Are Abhorrent: Aviva initially believes this to be the case with crocodiles. Averted, however when the adventure helps her (and the audience) see how dedicated, and protective crocodile mothers are towards their hatchlings.
- Samus Is a Girl: Martin discovers that all the unborn crocodiles, whom he has given male names, are actually girls.
- Shout-Out: Martin decides to name the crocodile mother Crocodilla.
