  • Arson, Murder, and Jaywalking: When Daphne talks to Velma about finding her family, she lists a few things:
Daphne: I need to find out who I really am. Where do I come from? And how is my hair the color of buffalo wings?
  • Artistic License – Biology: At the end of the previous episode, Daphne's moms shoot Fred once in each thigh. Somehow, he's able to walk to the police car with only a little assistance and is perfectly fine after about a day or two.
  • Artistic License – Law:
    • After Velma has Fred arrested for suspicion of murder, Fred's family hires Velma's dad to represent them. If this were Real Life, this wouldn't have been allowed due to conflict of interest. Velma would also not be able to have any sort of contact with Fred and be unable to help her dad because of said conflict of interest.
    • Everything about Fred's trial was a mess. Fred would have been able to get a lawyer no matter what due to his constitutional rights, Velma’s testimony would not have been able to hold water because she states her opinion rather than facts, and there was no way that the court would have allowed Fred to have access to a knife. The judge would also not be able to declare Fred guilty on the spot without any sort of evidence.
  • Artistic License – Medicine: Daphne snaps Velma out of her hallucination-induced panic attack by kissing her. Not only she is clearly far from the right person to even kiss her, kissing someone while they are in a panic attack to calm them down, even by a lover, would only make the situation worse and increase the victim's panic levels due to the sudden intrusion.
  • Kangaroo Court: Everything about Fred’s trial is full of over-the-top antics that would never fly from his lawyer being the father of the lead witness (a conflict of interest) to his tantrum after being mocked by the entire court for being unable to cut a steak (a knife also would not have been allowed). The judge also decides to declare Fred guilty with no reasonable grounds, declaring Fred’s hyperbole as a confession of guilt. All the trial does is serve as another way to mock Fred.
  • Not Helping Your Case: After being accused of murder and provoked by Velma insulting his inability to take care of himself, Fred loses his temper during the trial and picks up a knife while proclaiming that he could have killed the three girls.
  • Pink Is Erotic: When Velma and Daphne hold hands, the scene switches into a pink and black neon outline. And pink lighting appears as they realize they are attracted to each other.
