¡Qué Lástima!

"¡Qué Lástima!" ("What A Pity!") is the 5th episode of season 2 of 31 Minutos. Cósimo Gianni, the image assesor goes back to his old ways. This time Cósimo, forces Tulio and his crew to make the show as downer as possible, since happiness is out of mode and what that that sadness is now the mode, as such Tulio and his crew are forced to make the show as sad and downer as possible to avoid being fired. Eventually they find about Carlitos Lechuga, a kid, who lost his balloon and decide to exploit that for ratings.

"¡Qué Lástima!" contains examples of:

  • Accidental Hero: Not in the moral sense of the word. Mario Hugo becomes this in the eyes of his friends by knocking Carlitos Lechuga and giving his friends the chance of leeching of the predicament of the kid to keep their jobs.
  • Crosses the Line Twice: Nanana Nanina demeans Juanín, humiliates him and throws green paint over him, humilliating him further, but this is played by laughs, although In-Universe, this was meant to be dramatic and hopeful.
  • Foreshadowing: Carlitos Lechuga first appears during Mico's survey with his balloon and says that he's happy with it... guess what happens next?
  • I Am Not Weasel: Juanín refers himself as a "juanín" and doesn't like that Nanana Nanina refers him as a "beaver".
  • Jerkass Ball: Juanín and Mario Hugo Juanín is even happy that Carlitos Lechuga lost his balloon, he even hopes he never finds it. Mario Hugo kickstarted the whole drama by knocking Carlitos Lechuga.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Jerk: Tulio and everybody else are a bunch of jerks who exploit the sadness of Carlitos Lechuga to keep their job, they fake sadness in front of the public, but Cósimo goes away, they laugh and even Juanín hopes that Carlitos never find his balloon.
  • Kick the Dog:
    • both Juanín and Mario Hugo Mario Hugo is the one who knocks Carlitos Lechuga, making him lose his balloon, while Juanín hopes out loud that he never finds it.
    • Cósimo takes a step further by blowing up the balloon of Carlitos Lechuga, as soon he recovers it!
  • Small Role, Big Impact: Mario Hugo has a minor role, but he kickstarted the drama of Carlitos Lechuga, by knocking him.
  • Tempting Fate:
    • Carlitos Lechuga in the survey says he's never sad, because he has his balloon, guess what happens later?
    • Juanín hopes that Carlitos Lechuga never finds his balloon, guess what happens later?
  • The Reveal: Juanín is reveled to be a "juanín".
  • Top Ten List: The Ranking Top:
    • 3rd Place: Boing Boing Boing — El Tío Horacio
    • 2nd Place: Señora Interesante — Cucky
    • 1st Place: El Dinosaurio Anacleto — El Dinosaurio Roberto
  • Would Hurt a Child: Mario Hugo has no qualms or remorse in knocking Carlitos Lechuga, making him lose his balloon in the first place. This also goes for Tulio and his friends who exploit the suffering of Carlitos Lechuga, for ratings.
