As Makoto is under suspicion of treason by the Future Foundation, they're about to enter a dangerous game by an old foe.

- Locked Out of the Loop: Hagakure is outside when the attack happens, as such, he is not in the new game.
- Recurring Element: Again, a character that seems to be important to the plot is the first one to die.
- Remember the New Guy?: It's the first time anyone ever heard about the Branch Leaders, but Makoto and the others already knew all of them.
- Sacrificial Lamb: Chisa.
- Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: The Branch Leaders are working together merely due to the fact they have to, and are clear to nearly hate each other, particularly coming from Sakakura, Munakata and Andou.
- True Companions: Munakata and Chisa.
- The survivors of the 78th Class grew into this. Asahina and Kirigiri are particularly shown to be close.
