On a fragging server, Heavy Guy is frustrated to find one participant sitting out on the action. It's none other than the Soldier from the first episode, KIA; when Heavy Guy talks him into fighting, they're both surprised to learn they're fellow Stand-Users. And soon, they'll have to exercise their powers for more than just sparring. Meanwhile, Fixer, Jumpsuit, and Bonkbot try to wind down after the Railway United Incident. They receive a surprise visit by some V.A.C. agents, who provide them with Bonkbot's special equipment.

  • Argument of Contradictions: Frustrated to see him not participating in the fragging match, Heavy Guy tries persuading KIA into dueling him so he can see him in action. KIA keeps refusing the offer, but Heavy persists, and eventually, the conversation devolves into Heavy shouting "YOU WILL DO THIS!!" every time he's quietly declined. While this is happening, a group of Walkers have gathered in the distance to observe the argument... and the Lieutenant is too amused to act while the two warriors are distracted.
Heavy Guy: You... we fight like men.
[With a triumphant jingle, an emblem indicating Heavy's offer to duel appears above his head. KIA looks at it, baffled and annoyed, and Heavy offers an encouraging chuckle.]
    KIA: ... What? No.
[Now, with a descending jingle, the emblem disappears, much to Heavy's surprise.]
    Heavy: Come on.
[The emblem appears again. KIA just stares at it before it disappears again.]
Heavy Guy: [Visibly frustrated] Come ooooon!!
KIA: [Cutting off the duel jingle] Negatory! [The last half of the second jingle plays]
Heavy Guy: [Clasping his hand into a fist] AAAAAARGH!! YOU WILL DO THIS!!
[As KIA keeps declining and Heavy keeps shouting his last line, a few Walkers have gathered where they can't be easily seen to watch the argument unfold.]
Green Walker: Lieutenant. Permission to retaliate?
Heavy Guy: [Off-screen] YOU WILL DO THIS!!
    [He's refused again.]
    Lieutenant Walker: Denied. Have patience.
  • Call-Back: When something crashes into the Lumberyard server, KIA takes charge to ascertain whatever's going on, ordering everyone else to wait near the server backbone entrance for safety. This includes Heavy Guy, who begrudgingly obeys at first... But then, he overhears KIA confronting a Distorted Demoman. Unsure of the outcome, he flashes back to the mercenaries he met during "Endless Greed," all of whom were killed thanks to his overly passive plan to deal with the Masked Spy. He rushes to action, not wanting to repeat that mistake, and upon reuniting with KIA, they agree to return to the backbone entrance, ensure that the other mercenaries evacuate safely, and take care of the Distorted themselves.
  • Early-Bird Cameo: As the Walkers muse about their loss, they notice they are being observed by a Spy. The loadout he has implies he isn't the Masked Spy from "Endless Greed," and his identity is revealed a few episodes later.
  • Elite Mook: It turns out the Distorted have more powerful variants of each class, and the mutations are exclusively produced by Walker Drones with yellow lights. This episode introduces the Slam, an utterly massive Heavy variant with a grotesquely muscular right arm. It serves as the final opponent of the episode for KIA and Heavy Guy, bearing immense physical strength and an intense, bloody explosion upon death.
  • Evil Laugh: KIA strains himself overusing his Stand while facing the Slam and cries out in pain. The Slam lets out a hearty guffaw at his expense, which quietly ticks Heavy Guy off enough to fight harder than when he started. With a decisive punch, he cripples the Slam in the leg, leaving it vulnerable for one final hit.
  • Invisible to Normals: Briefly, the perspective of KIA and Heavy Guy's duel shifts to the other mercenaries watching on the sidelines. Just like what the Masked Spy claims in "Endless Greed," as non-Stand-Users, they cannot see the warriors’ Stands; they can only see the results of their attacks, such as the atmosphere being disrupted by their force. Meanwhile, the Walkers, who are also watching the fight in secret, can see the Stands. The implications of this, though not expanded upon in this episode, are nothing good.
  • Smile of Approval: KIA doesn’t receive a great first impression from Heavy Guy, whose first instinct upon meeting KIA is to pester him into a duel. KIA remains cold to him even after finally accepting his offer... right up until he attacks Heavy with American Myth, and both opponents realize each other is a fellow Stand-User. Upon seeing Crush manifest behind Heavy, KIA flashes a big grin, excited that there's far more to Heavy than what meets his eyes. After their duel, KIA even offers Heavy some constructive criticism for his performance; he sees great potential in him and hopes he improves his strategy.
