Having joined forces, Fixer and Jumpsuit continue fighting their way past more Distorted mercenaries, discovering just how dangerous these new threats can become. Eventually, they make their way down to the basement of a neighboring facility, where they discover a powerful new ally in the form of Bonkbot. He may be their ticket to escaping and finding answers about what's going on...

This episode contains examples of:

  • Action Duo: Jumpsuit proves to be more experienced in dealing with threats like the Distorted than Fixer. Due to his Slasher background, he has no trouble killing any infected mercenary quickly, efficiently, and emotionlessly. He also knows of some experimental weaponry stashed away within Railway United's warehouses, which is how he outfits Fixer with his Magnum Opus. Fixer, by contrast, lacks the experience Jumpsuit does, so he gets emotional and fearful more easily, keeping him from acting appropriately. The confrontation with the Distorted Pyro has him freeze up in fright for several seconds. Jumpsuit is forced to fight the Pyro alone for the most part, with Fixer only able to contribute a single gunshot.
  • Batman Gambit: In the final confrontation, Bonkbot declares that he can wipe out the remaining Distorted without using a firearm. He correctly guesses that the Distorted Heavy will attempt to brute-force a victory with his mini-gun despite the obvious ploy. In response, he takes out his bat and deflects every single bullet sent his way... back into all of the Heavy's fellow Distorted. Before he's sent flying by a home-run swing, the Heavy is so dumbstruck that his face and voice briefly return to normal as he comments on being outplayed.
    "Metal man outsmart bullet."
  • Establishing Character Moment: This episode introduces the first Distorted Pyro shown onscreen. Upon turning around to face its opponents, it chuckles, realizing its appearance has shaken Fixer to the core; even Jumpsuit looks horrified. It slowly advances on them with a wide-eyed expression to capitalize on that fear. Jumpsuit counters by emptying the entirety of a nearby machine gun's clip into its torso, which would've been a guaranteed death for any other fledgling Distorted. But this only annoys the Pyro, who wrenches its body to remove the bullets, continuing forward unperturbed until Fixer and Jumpsuit both severely wound its head. In just a few short minutes, the Distorted Pyros' self-awareness and toughness are established, along with the other characters' unsettledness around them.
  • Hope Spot: Soon after they enter the neighboring Railway United facility, Fixer and Jumpsuit encounter a RED Pyro who survived the initial Distortion attacks. At first, he's elated to have found some fellow survivors to help him escape... But Fixer, not realizing the Pyro is uninfected, trains his pistol on him, fearfully ordering him to back up. The time the frightened Pyro spends trying to convince Fixer he's safe is enough for a Walker to sneak in and infect him.
  • Vomit Discretion Shot: In the night after the Railway United Incident, Fixer ends up vomiting into his toilet due to his pent-up distress; he's shown kneeling over the toilet and lurching, but no vomit is visible. Jumpsuit, now living with him as his roommate, hurries to his side to comfort him.
