Bert bites off more than he can chew trying to please everyone in preparation for the fair. Meanwhile, the Pigs' mother visits again, just in time to witness their jam making scheme.

- Adding extra tasks to an already busy schedule can overwhelm you and get in the way of accomplishing anything.
- If you try too hard to please everyone, you'll end up pleasing no one.
- Doomed Supermarket Display: Played with. The episode opens with Bert helping Mr. Willow in his general store by setting up a display of cans. However, Bert leaves the stack unfinished, causing it to lose balance and topple over, much to Mr. Willow's annoyance.
- "Double, Double" Title: "Promises Promises!"
- Last-Second Joke Problem: The Pigs are tasked with repairing a hole in the wall of Sneer Manor caused by an incident with a pressure cooker earlier in the episode. After they finish repairing the wall, they realize they've accidentally trapped themselves inside the room when they can't find a door and they cry for help before the credits roll.
- We Need a Distraction: To prevent their mother from noticing they used her preserves for their jam, the Pigs try to distract her by setting off a fireworks display prematurely, which hit the hot air balloon Bert and Bentley are in.
